China has extended the period of visa-free transit to 10 days | TURIZM

Previously, other limits were in effect – 3 and 6 days. Travelers now have the opportunity to take advantage of the extended stay period, which is 10 days and is available at 60 checkpoints located in 24 provinces of China. However, it is worth considering that during this period it is forbidden to leave the territory of the province where the tourist found himself after arrival. In some regions, it is allowed to stay exclusively in certain localities. Information about checkpoints and territories where this transit scheme will operate is provided by the Chinese Border Guard Service.

For example, if a traveler arrives at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, he must stay in Guizhou Province. Those who arrived in China via Beijing Capital (PEK) or Beijing Daxing (PKX) airports cannot leave Beijing.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, you must have a ticket to any country other than China. In addition, the border guards have the right to demand to present a document that confirms the reservation of a place in the hotel. Border guards evaluate each transit case individually. If they become suspicious, they have the right to refuse to cross the border.

In addition to the new 240-hour visa-free transit model, there is also a shorter 24-hour transit. It is available in almost all airports except Fuzhou, Huangshan, Mudanjiang and Urumqi. At the same time, there are no prohibitions on changing the airport terminal or region when waiting for the next flight for more than 1 day.
